Welcome to our fall quarter rotation students, Michal Gala, Qianhe (Kelly) Liu, and Audrey Shih! Michal, Kelly, and Audrey are joining us as new Ph.D. students in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
We are very proud of Andy for her fantastic SURF Lightning Talk! Andy adapted to remote research this summer and proposed creative designs for new anisotropic biomaterials. We have enjoyed getting to know her this summer, and we wish her the best of luck as classes resume in Puerto Rico!

The Mai Research Group welcomes its first student, Lucia Brunel! Lucia is a Ph.D. student in Chemical Engineering, and she will rotate with the lab during Winter 2020.
Danielle is joining Stanford University’s Department of Chemical Engineering as an Assistant Professor! The Mai Research Group will open in the Shriram Center for Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering in January 2020 and is seeking creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic biopolymer engineers and scientists.

Danielle shared her work at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, where she was spotted by ChEnected during the Meet the Faculty Candidate Poster Session! Thanks to Ralm Ricarte for the photo tip.
Danielle gave a seminar at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois - Chicago. Thanks to Vivek Sharma for hosting a wonderful visit!
Danielle was selected as an MIT IMPACT Fellow.

Danielle and Michael Thees (Emory University) chaired the Polymer Physics Gordon Research Seminar. Thanks to our speakers, discussion leaders, panelists, and attendees for an exciting and successful program before the Polymer Physics GRC!
Danielle and Chelsea’s work was awarded the 2018 Journal of Polymer Science poster prize for the Division of Polymer Physics (DPOLY) at the March American Physical Society (APS) meeting!

Danielle was selected as an Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow.
Danielle shared her work at the ACS Fall Meeting in Washington, DC.
2016
Danielle completed her Ph.D. in the Schroeder Lab at Illinois and joined the Olsen Lab at MIT as a Postdoctoral Associate.
